Technology Architect - Senior (Toronto)

Job Overview

The Sr. Technology Architect will provide the capacity required to deliver on the Cloud Access Security Platforms and Proactive Risk Management pillars of the Cyber Security Strategy.

Client: Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement

Work Location: 222 Jarvis St., Toronto, Ontario, Hybrid

Hours: 7.25 hours per day

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and strategy guidance for Ontario Government SSE and network security modernization projects, including implementation and support of SSE technology platforms across multiple environments and OS types.
• Provide strong knowledge of MITRE and SSE development and configuration.
• Offer operational support, deployment coordination, change management, and documentation for new and existing SASE security technologies.
• Collaborate with security teams and external partners to engineer and support SASE platforms aligned with organizational goals; work with vendors to report issues and manage resolution.
• Create documentation to ensure appropriate operational process and procedures during business-impacting incidents or issues.
• Provide integration support and development effort on design changes or introduction of new business requirements to network‑security related platforms.
• Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the technical architecture (hardware, software, database, communications) for all or specific applications in a large, distributed cross‑platform environment.
• Identify relevant information and determine the development environment.
• Engineer and operationally support Ontario Government network‑security focused projects, including implementation and ongoing improvements of Palo Alto Prisma Access, Radware Web Application Firewall (WAF), and Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB).

Key Qualifications

• Leadership experience in the development and implementation of technical security architectures.
• Extensive experience with enterprise security services, identity and database technologies, and network access protocols.
• Experience in structured methodologies for designing, developing and implementing cloud applications.
• Experience in systems analysis and design within large secure solution environments.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and ability to guide others using this methodology.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Team player with a track record of meeting deadlines.
• Knowledge of Information Management security principles, concepts, policies, and practices.

Required Skills

• Advanced knowledge and experience with network security technology, including Palo Alto Prisma Access, Radware Web Application Firewall (WAF), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), firewall policy management, and cloud infrastructure network architecture.

Experience working on agile project delivery teams, managing backlog, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
