Legal Assistant in Financial Services

Cassels is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant for our Financial Services Department in Toronto. This full-time role involves managing legal documents, supporting lawyers, and liaising with clients effectively. In this permanent position, you will assist lawyers' practices by opening files, managing calendars, and preparing critical legal documents. The ideal candidate brings 3-5 years of experience in commercial real estate, showcasing strong organizational skills and a commitment to detail. This role demands proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Teraview, ensuring smooth operation in a collaborative legal environment. Key Responsibilities:
• Manage lawyer’s files and document organization
• Prepare legal documents from provided instructions
• Draft correspondence and editing tasks
• Maintain calendar and update outstanding matters
• Liaise with clients and colleagues for information acquisition Requirements:
• Legal Administration Diploma or Certificate required
• 3-5 years of legal assistant experience in real estate
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Familiarity with Teraview and Closing Folders
• Strong communication and initiative-taking skills Contribute to a dynamic financial services team at Cassels, utilizing your legal expertise and administrative skills.
