Associate Director - Payments Risk Advisory and Oversight Manager (Toronto)

What is the Opportunity?

The Payments Risk Advisory and Oversight Manager will support key elements of the Payments Program to execute a robust CUSO Payments Risk Management Program, ensuring policy and standard requirements are adhered to by all segments within CUSO. This role will execute effective oversight and challenge over the business/First Line of Defense (1LOD) and support the development of the Payments Risk Profile by platform and legal entity. The role will be instrumental in ensuring program effectiveness by providing education, collaborating across teams, and promoting Payments awareness across the organization to ensure overall organizational resiliency. What will you do?

Support the CUSO Payments Risk strategy, culture and activities that enable the team to operate as an integrated organization. Provide recommendations on policies, processes and tools for CUSO Payments Risk management. Participate in forums, working groups and committees, and monitor the internal and external environment to keep abreast of regulatory, strategic and operational changes that impact business continuity and risk management. Investigate large loss events, incidents related to Payments, Fraud or business disruption to assess systemic weaknesses and ensure appropriate corrective action. Partner with the first line of defense on the execution and effectiveness of the Payments program (independent reviews, deep‑dive reviews, risk assessments and coordination of scenario analysis) to gain assurance on current and emerging issues. Execute an annual CUSO Payments Risk Assessment to support an accurate view of the Operational Risk Profile. Provide subject‑matter‑expert review and challenge of risk routines and assessments (for example new products, changes, RCSA, control testing). What do you need to succeed?

4+ years of Payments Risk experience with a background in Operational Risk, Compliance and/or Audit, ideally within banking or financial services. Sound knowledge and experience with operational risk programs, risk assessment, internal controls, monitoring and reporting. Payments Risk and Fraud Risk experience and knowledge of global best practices. Under‑graduate degree or equivalent experience. Nice‑to‑have:
