We are at a critical juncture whereresearch of pain mechanisms and pain management strategies require effective translation to ensure optimal outcomes for individuals who suffer from pain. The University of Toronto Centre for the Study of Pain plays an important role in linking researchers and clinicians through education. The Centre's vision and mission is to be a key academic voice and a leader, both nationally and internationally, in pain research and education, and to create and disseminate knowledge on pain and inform clinical excellence through interdisciplinary collaboration of the Faculties of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, and Pharmacy. Your opportunity: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Lead to drive the implementation of the SafeOp Perioperative Pain Management Initiative, a national effort to advance best practices in opioid prescribing and perioperative pain management for opioid-naïve adult patients undergoing elective surgery. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a multi-disciplinary project focused on updating and disseminating a Consensus Statement and mobilizing knowledge to improve patient care across Canada. The Project Lead will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project, including evidence synthesis, interest holder engagement, knowledge translation, and dissemination strategies. Key responsibilities include coordinating a literature review to update guidelines, organizing engagement sessions with healthcare professionals, developing/overseeing the design of knowledge products (e.g., slide decks, infographics, interactive modules), establishing partnerships with professional associations, and leading national dissemination efforts. The successful candidate will work closely with key opinion leaders, healthcare providers, and patient representatives to ensure the effective implementation of best practices. This role requires strong project management skills, expertise in knowledge mobilization, and experience engaging with diverse healthcare stakeholders. A background in health research, pain management, or opioid stewardship is preferred. • Developing overall project design
• Developing charter, scope, resources and schedule for project(s)
• Planning and implementing project phases, e.g. preparing project timelines, mapping out project deliverables, etc.
• Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance, including health care professional associations, health care professionals, and academic institutions.
• Informing project leaders of issues and roadblocks, foreseeing challenging and developing mitigation strategies, being flexible and dynamic as opportunities that align with the project goals arise.
• Monitoring project financial accounts
• Gathering information in preparation for budget planning and reporting
• Directing a small group in a limited area, including responsibility for scheduling and/or workflow

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
• Six to seven years of relevant project management experience in a health-related field (pain, surgery, or anesthesiaan asset).
• Experience working on Health Canada projects and reporting.
• Experience with knowledge dissemination with a target audience of healthcare professionals.
• Experience working with external partners with competing priorities.
• Experience working with vendors, communicating and liaising to achieve project/contract goals.
• Experience reporting on budget and financial information, and project metrics.
• Strong project management experience, managing the full cycle of related activities and leading project teams.
• Excellent relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with strategic partners.
• Exceptional time management, prioritization skills, with the ability to delegate and assign tasks to project members.
• Ability to exercise initiative, tact, discretion, problem-solving skills and to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Assets (Nonessential):

• Experience with clinical guideline development and dissemination an asset.
• Ability to communicate in French is an asset.
