Business Analyst Intermediate

OVERVIEW

The Business Analyst Intermediate role is focused on eliciting requirements and analyzing feasibility to ensure that solutions and initiatives meet expected business outcomes within the B2B Banking and Credit Technology sector. The successful candidate will support various project teams throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that development aligns with business requirements while creating informative project documents for multiple stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, with a proven ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights. They will thrive in a collaborative team environment, demonstrating excellent communication skills and a commitment to process improvement. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently on complex tasks.

Location: FCP, Hybrid (Monday & Tuesday onsite)

Contract Length: 12 months, with the possibility of extension or conversion to FTE

Hours: 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. (subject to change), with occasional weekend releases

Pay: T4: $54-57 / IC $62-65

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Elicit requirements and analyze feasibility to ensure solutions and initiatives achieve expected business outcomes.


• Support various project teams across the project lifecycle to ensure development aligns with business requirements.


• Develop informative, coherent, and usable project documents for multiple stakeholders covering functional and non-functional business requirements.


• Apply depth of domain and functional expertise for the assigned portfolio to drive expected business value.


• Break down strategic problems and analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations.


• Build test cases to validate business requirements and End-User Testing results.


• Focus primarily on business/group within the organization, with potential for broader enterprise-wide focus.


• Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.


• Work independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.


• Take on broader work or accountabilities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Typically 4 to 6 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Foundational proficiency in Waterfall and Agile delivery and development methodologies.


• Experience in data analysis and process improvement and optimization.


• Knowledge of business architecture frameworks and stakeholder analysis and management.


• Demonstrated digital fluency and systems thinking capabilities.


• Intermediate proficiency in business requirements definition and analysis, insights development and reporting, and application functional design.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with collaboration and team skills.


• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision making.


• Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Proficiency in business requirements definition and analysis.


• Experience with insights development and reporting.


• Familiarity with application functional design and functional analysis.

PREFERRED

• Ability to understand technical terminology related to architecture, data analysis, and flows.


• Previous experience in the financial or banking industry.
