Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an undergraduate engineering co-op student to support equipment and facility maintenance operations in Mississauga. The role focuses on continuous improvement initiatives, operational metrics tracking, and data-driven process optimization within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with departmental continuous improvement projects and compile data for process optimization
- Develop and monitor weekly KPIs and operational equipment effectiveness metrics using Maximo system
- Generate reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders
- Lead continuous huddles with teams to review data, identify barriers, and implement countermeasures
- Support 5S process implementation and identify automation opportunities to streamline operations
Requirements
- Undergraduate student in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics
- Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2029
- Proven leadership experience through student organizations, athletics, community service, or similar roles
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and solve complex problems
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across diverse teams
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship requirement
- Previous co-op, internship, or related work experience preferred
Compensation: $24.00–$25.00 hourly
