Packaging Engineering Co-op

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an undergraduate engineering co-op student to support packaging design, engineering standards, and validation testing. The role involves cross-functional collaboration on product development, equipment selection, and compliance with medical device standards.
Responsibilities
- Participate on cross-functional teams to develop new packaging products and manufacturing processes
- Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to brainstorm and assess feasibility of new packaging concepts
- Create detailed component drawings, engineering change requests, and technical design documentation
- Conduct process qualifications and ship testing per medical device and industrial standards; document results
- Support development and implementation of packaging engineering design guides and sustainability guidelines
Requirements
- Undergraduate student in engineering discipline, graduating December 2027–June 2029
- Previous co-op, internship, or related work experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership experience through organizations or community service
- Strong problem-solving and ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship
- Geographic mobility and flexibility for future placements
Compensation: $24.00–$25.00 per hour
