Sr Equipment Specialist - Millwright

Senior Equipment Specialist – Millwright at Thermo Fisher Scientific maintains production machinery and equipment in compliance with GMP standards. The role involves repairs, preventative maintenance, and technical support across pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment in a GMP-regulated facility in Mississauga, Ontario.

Responsibilities

Repair, rebuild, and refurbish machinery using milling machines, lathes, and machine shop hand tools
Perform general maintenance on production equipment including fluid bed dryers, tablet presses, vacuum systems, and processing vessels
Schedule preventative maintenance within program timeframes and coordinate downtime with group leaders and supervisors
Document work activities in CMMS program and maintain accurate GMP-compliant records
Participate in operational meetings, root cause analysis, and EHS initiatives; provide operator training on equipment setup

Requirements

High school diploma or GED; College Certificate/Degree in Industrial Millwright preferred
Certified Ontario Trades Person; Licensed to practice as Industrial Millwright
Minimum 3 years industrial mechanic or maintenance experience in food, cosmetic, or pharmaceutical industries
Experience reading drawings, schematics, and proficiency with Microsoft Office
Familiarity with GMP, OHSA Regulations, and Maxima CMMS program experience preferred
Working knowledge of electronics and pneumatics; proficiency in English language

Compensation: $56,400–$84,600 CAD annually
