Pharmacy Assistant

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Full-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Pharmasave in New Westminster, British Columbia.

A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation are required, as this position involves delivering medications to patients.

Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on candidate experience. Pharmacy Assistant Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Delivery Driver Responsibilities

• Perform medication and medical supply pickups and deliveries in New Westminster
• Use a personal, reliable vehicle for deliveries, as a company vehicle is not available
• Ensure the safety and security of all medications, medical supplies, and other cargo during transportation
• Complete delivery documentation, obtain required signatures, and submit delivery slips as needed
• Maintain accurate delivery and related records

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred
• Previous experience within a pharmacy is an asset
• Valid, permanent provincial driver’s license with a safe driving record
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification
• Trustworthy and dependable, with a high level of professionalism
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments
• Ability to accurately follow established procedures and guidelines
• Criminal Record Check is required

Schedule

• Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• Medication delivery is required once per week during regular working hours; mileage reimbursement will be provided
