Position: Senior Clerk 

Reports to: Department Manager, CK

Status: Full Time

Hours of Work: Day shift with various start times between 6:00 AM-10:00 AM

Days of Work: 4 days-5 days Monday through Friday + Sundays

Work Location: 8800 Huntington Rd, Vaughan, ON L4H 3M6

Job Overview:

This position achieves the Genuine Merchant Strategy by ensuring the highest possible standards are maintained in all areas of the production facility with regard to quality and by providing appropriate training to team members to achieve the highest level of productivity with a strict adherence to standard operating procedures and all other company procedures specific to Food Safety and Health and Safety.

Food & Product Knowledge

Responsible for:

• Providing product and production information to the Production Manager regarding raw products, quality and production volumes
• Strong knowledge of all aspects of assembly and preparation
• A basic understanding of recipe creation and the ability to quickly learn and teach new processes.
• Knowledge of Ad items, programs and events relevant to product assembly and preparation production
• Strong knowledge of all finished goods SKU’s

Implementing Quality Control Cleanliness and Presentation

Controlling all aspects of Quality Control and cleanliness by:

• Responsible for ensuring the quality and freshness of products at all times by checking dates and removing substandard products
• Prepare product in keeping with department standards
• Perform special tasks as assigned
• Adherence to food safety standards
• Adherence to proper sanitization and cleaning procedures

Department Policies and Standard Operating Procedures:

Responsible for complying with all department

policies and standard operating procedures for:

• Proper product preparation
• Proper rotation and storage
• Careful handling of products
• Correct pricing and packaging
• Standard Operating Procedures
• Food Safety
• Loss Prevention
• Dress Code Policy
• Responsible for shrink – product quality, ensures proper ordering, controls supplies, inventory control, product rotation, storage

Health and Safety:

• Promote and apply Safety Vision “Safety is our way of life”
• Role model  the importance of Health and Safety with their peers by always working safely and calls out and addresses any safety issues
• Observe and comply with safe work practices, OHSA and Regulations to ensure personal safe wellbeing and a proactive safety culture
• Recognize risks which may pose a danger and reporting the risk to management immediately
• Wear Protective Equipment where required in policy or safe workplace practice as directed by management
• Ensure all pre-use checks (where applicable) are conducted and all equipment is maintained to provide for safe operation by Team Members, ensure supervisor/management are made aware of any damaged or defective equipment or workspace immediately
• Cooperate with early and safe return to work (ESRTW) as required
• Prior to completing task, ask Supervisor, Managers questions when and if you are unsure about performing a work task

Job Knowledge, Skills & Credentials:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience preferably in large scale food production facility
• Food Handlers Certification
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices
• Appropriate knowledge of maintenance and care of equipment, materials and supplies relevant to your area of production
• Strong knowledge of Employment Standards, WHMIS, and Loss Prevention practices
• Knowledge of temperature control parameters
