Senior Mechanical Engineer

Our client is a leading mining engineering firm that specializes in underground shaft sinking, hoist systems, shaft infrastructure, and the full scope of technical work that goes into some of the most complex underground mining projects in the industry. They are seeking a well rounded Senior Mechanical Engineer in either Vaughn or Thunder Bay, ON.

The work spans early-stage study work for prospective clients, active EPC projects (including ongoing work in Sudbury), and everything in between.

What You'll Receive:

• Competitive Compensation - $130,000 - $170,000 DOE

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading mechanical design for shaft sinking projects, including hoist systems and related underground infrastructure
• Working closely with the structural team and other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated designs
• Supporting study work as the company positions for new project awards
• Contributing to EPC projects from design through execution
• Attending client and vendor meetings to help source equipment and services
• Occasional site visits as projects require

What My Client Is Looking For

• Senior-level mechanical engineering experience - ideally with exposure to underground shaft sinking or similar underground mining infrastructure
• A consulting engineering background is a strong asset
• Someone comfortable collaborating across disciplines in a design-driven environment
• A senior engineer ready to help build and mentor a team, not just join one
