Senior Estimator Role at Whissell Calgary

Whissell is seeking a Senior Construction Estimator in Calgary, AB. Leverage your construction estimating skills in civil infrastructure to deliver accurate cost assessments for utility projects. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing comprehensive estimates and evaluating tenders for underground utility and earthworks. The position requires a solid 10 years of related experience and proficiency in analyzing project risks and subcontractor pricing. Your leadership skills will be essential in guiding proposal submissions and reviewing project scopes. Key Responsibilities:
- Create accurate cost estimates for assigned tenders
- Evaluate specifications and ensure all bid information is correct
- Engage subcontractors for bid follow-ups and feedback
- Prepare necessary documents for project managers
- Review project plans and set competitive pricing strategies
- Over 10 years of experience in construction estimating
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office for documentation
- Experience with blueprints and cost reports
- Preferred P.Eng or CET certification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
