Director Compliance Alternative Asset Management
Sagard
Lead compliance across Sagard’s alternative asset management platform, using regulatory judgment and AI-enabled processes. Work from Montreal, Toronto, or New York.
The Director, Compliance supports Sagard affiliates across Canada, the United States, and international jurisdictions. This senior role covers SEC-registered advisers, Canadian registrants, private funds, and alternative strategies. You will help strengthen programs, support transactions, and advise executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead compliance programs for Sagard affiliates and registrants
- Maintain manuals, codes, supervisory procedures, and policies
- Direct annual reviews, reports, filings, and regulatory examinations
- Advise on products, transactions, conflicts, marketing, and valuation
- Coordinate cross-border compliance matters and training
Requirements:
- Seven to twelve years of relevant regulatory experience
- Experience with OSC, AMF, or SEC-registered advisers
- Strong Investment Advisers Act and SEC rules knowledge
- Experience managing examinations and regulatory inquiries
- AI fluency, communication skills, and practical judgment
