What will your typical day look like? 

As a Practitioner in Cyber Strategy & Transformation, you will work with teammates and clients to help organizations transform how they manage cyber and technology risk in a practical, business-focused way.   

You will have the opportunity to:  

• Shape cyber strategy and transformation roadmaps  – Help clients define their cyber vision, target operating model, and multi-year transformation roadmap that align cyber to business priorities and enable secure digital transformation.  

• Build the case for change  – Analyze client challenges, quantify costs and benefits, and develop business cases, investment options, and executive-ready recommendations for new cyber and technology initiatives.  

• Design cyber governance and risk management processes  – Advise on the design and uplift of cyber governance, policies, risk taxonomies, risk appetite, three lines of defense, and cyber and technology risk management process (e.g., risk assessments, controls testing and monitoring, regulatory management, reporting) .  

• Bring insight to executive and boards  – Develop cyber metrics, dashboards, and board-level reporting that translate technical cyber risk into clear, outcome-driven insights to support leadership decision-making.  

• Bridge business and technology  – Break down complex technical concepts and explain them in a simple, business-focused way for non-technical stakeholders, including executives and board members.  

• Co-create with clients  – Facilitate and lead workshops, interviews, and working session with clients and Deloitte teams to understand problem statements and co-create practical, business-aligned solutions.  

• Stay on top of what’s trending – Research industry trends, threats, evolving regulations (e.g., OSFI, NIST, ISO), and leading practices, using access to the Deloitte global network to bring “what good looks like” to our clients.  

• Improve how we work at Deloitte  – Contribute ideas to enhance Deloitte methodologies, tools, and accelerators, including how we can use emerging technologies like AI and automation.  

• Learn a lot, fast  – Grow your skills through client work, coaching, networking, and training.  

 

About the team  

The Cyber Strategy & Transformation practice with 200 practitioners across Canada. Our cyber services help align client cyber standing with strategic objectives, market activities, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite. Through transforming and developing cyber programs, we help enterprises stay ahead of the evolving threat landscape while driving stakeholder confidence.  

Our advisory and consulting services include:  

• Extended Enterprise : Helps clients evaluate and manage the risks associated with their third parties, vendors, and suppliers across the extended enterprise. We design and implement third-party risk management frameworks and operating models, conduct due diligence and third-party risk assessments, and support ongoing monitoring. We leverage GenAI, cloud technologies and intelligent automation to enhance risk visibility, streamline assessments, and improve operational resilience across the extended enterprise.  

• Software & Asset Management : Helps clients gain visibility and control over their IT and software assets across the full asset lifecycle. We establish comprehensive IT asset inventories, design and implement Software Asset Management programs, optimize licensing costs, and improve related security, compliance, legal, and financial risks.  

• Cyber Transformation Management : Helps clients set their cyber vision and turn it into action. We develop cybersecurity strategies, conduct cyber maturity assessments, design governance and target operating models, and build transformation roadmaps, taking a risk-based approach that enables new, digitally enabled business models.  

• Technology Resilience : Help clients govern and strengthen technology resilience across IT and cyber risk. We design governance and operating models, develop risk processes, build metrics and reporting, optimize and automate controls, and help organizations withstand disruption, maintain continuity, and keep critical operations running under stress and regulatory scrutiny.  

• Crisis & Incident Response : Helps clients prepare for, respond to, and recover from cyber incidents and business disruptions. We conduct resilience and readiness assessments, facilitate cyber tabletop exercises, and support crisis response and management, building the plans, playbooks, and broader organizational resilience needed to manage crises with confidence.

We are seeking candidates who:  

• Have completed or are currently working towards completing a post-secondary degree or diploma program (e.g., Business, Commerce, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field) 

• Are graduating within one year of your start date

  • Winter 2027:  You must be graduating between January 2026-December 2026

  • Spring/Summer 2027:  You must be graduating between May 2026-April 2027

  • Fall 2027: You must be graduating between September 2026-August 2027 

• Have a strong interest in how organizations govern cyber risk, protect their business, and enable secure digital transformation  

• Actively keep up with emerging trends in areas such as cyber risk management, cloud technologies, AI, data protection, privacy, cybersecurity threats, regulatory change, and security frameworks  

• Enjoy working in teams, facilitating workshops and discussions, and co-creating practical solutions with others  

• Display initiative, creativity, enjoy problem solving and are looking to make an impact  

• Can demonstrate strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project) and interested in using dashboards (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) and tools to turn cyber and risk data into clear and executive-ready insights  

• Are eager to learn on the job and are interested in pursuing relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, PMP, CPA) 

• Are legally eligible to work in Canada and able to enter the USA to work on client assignments

Quebec Location:   We require basic English language skills to meet the needs of our clients. In the context of mandates, you could work for clients with activities outside of Quebec and where the first language is English.  

Ottawa Location:   Employees in the Ottawa practice will be required to obtain “reliability” and/or “Secret” level federal security clearances as a condition of their employment. To be eligible for a "Reliability" status you must have resided in Canada for the last five (5) years and for "Secret" level, the last ten (10) years.  

 

 

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $122,000.00, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
