Retail Supervisor - Deployment Support (Halifax Regional Municipality)

The Retail Supervisor will be deployed overseas for six months to supervise a retail store for CAF and partner nations. The role focuses on operational leadership, customer service, inventory management, cash handling, and morale‑enhancement activities for deployed personnel. Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the retail team and day‑to‑day operations. Enforce health, hygiene, safety and security standards. Prepare regular cash audits, reconcile deposits, authorize refunds, voids and returns. Ensure distribution of merchandise, maintain adequate stock levels and conduct monthly inventory. Manage contracts, understand financial statements and supply chain processes. Implement loss prevention controls. Assist with recreational activities and events to enhance morale. Qualifications

Acceptable combination of education, training and experience. Valid driver’s licence and Canadian passport. Canadian citizenship. Experience supervising staff in operational retail or service settings. Experience coordinating multi‑service/outlet operations. Experience managing inventory, ordering, and reconciliation processes. Experience in cash handling, deposits, audits and financial reporting. Experience preparing operational, sales and merchandising reports. Experience addressing customer‑service issues and staffing challenges. Experience applying policies, procedures and compliance requirements. Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership. Additional Qualifications

Completion of health, dental and psychosocial assessment. Security screening. Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C or willingness to obtain upon hire. Ability to walk and lift, carry, pull or push heavy items. Language Requirements

Position type: Civilian deployment contract – 6‑month term. Deployment start dates may be within the next 2 years. Hours: Maximum 56 hours per week (includes weekdays and weekends). Contract location: Latvia. Benefits
