Receptionist - Coordinated Access

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Clinical Manager – Chronic Pain Management Program & Project ECHO, the Receptionist provides support with various duties for the Provincial Coordinated Access North West Mental Health & Addictions Hub. The Receptionist will be responsible for a variety of duties including referral management, customer service and information support, scheduling of appointments, following up with requesters and receivers, and support to the PCA Hub staff.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:

• Post-secondary qualifications in a business or administrative field
• Experience in a clerical capacity, preferably in a healthcare setting

Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with Meditech applications, in particular the admissions and scheduling modules
• Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, program staff, clients, families, and the general public
• Ability to identify, understand, and meet the requirements of internal and external customers
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Demonstrates strong data entry skills with proven ability to maintain exceptional speed and accuracy
• Demonstrated ability to acquire a knowledge of policies, Mental Health Act , health record practices, and the ability to accurately interpret same
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must maintain confidentiality of records, actions, and any information related to clients or staff information
• Ability to be flexible and follow direction from various program staff
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
• Demonstrated regular attendance at work

Asset:

• Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset

Conditions of Employment:

• This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
