Ingaged Creative Productions Inc. is an Indigenous-owned event services and creative production company based in Thunder Bay, Ontario, with offices at 610 Simpson Street and on Fort William First Nation. We produce a wide range of events across multiple sectors, including corporate events, tradeshows, multi-day regional conferences, and large-scale Indigenous community gatherings and cultural events. About the Role

The Multimedia and Event Technician (MET) delivers technical and multimedia support for live, hybrid, and virtual events. The MET sets up, operates, and tears down event technology and stage dressing and decor, captures and prepares multimedia content, supports the team on-site, and protects the quality of each event.

What You’ll Do

• Cross-Functional Technical Delivery: Set up, operate, and tear down audio, visual, lighting, projection, and staging systems at a working level. Handle load-in and load-out, cabling, basic event electrical, and LED screen assembly. Follow the run-of-show and support the event as it unfolds.
• Multimedia Capture and Content: Support videography and photography shoots, capture and prepare multimedia content, complete basic editing, and prepare files for handoff, before, during, and after events.
• Hybrid, Streaming and Interpretation Support: Support clean audio and video into and out of Zoom, OBS, Microsoft Teams, and other platforms. Support concurrent live, hybrid, and virtual sessions, and support interpretation and translation delivery, including headsets, captioning, and session recording. Many of our events run in more than one language.
• Client, Presenter and Performer Support: Communicate professionally with clients, presenters, performers, musicians, cultural leaders, and vendors. Provide calm support during rehearsals, sound checks, and live sessions, and follow cue sheets and annotated agendas accurately.
• Equipment, Inventory, and Logistics: Prepare, test, pack, and care for event and production equipment. Maintain accurate inventory records, support shipping and receiving, keep files organized, and help move gear to and from venues and out-of-town sites.
• Department and Project Support: Contribute to department work between events, support other teams and projects where technical capability helps, take part in event debriefs, and help keep our procedures current and useful.

Required

• Working Competence Across Event Technology: Comfort across basic mixers and microphones, projectors and displays, screen sharing, and camera and livestream basics, with the willingness to grow in each area.
• Platform Comfort: Working knowledge of Zoom, OBS, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365, including presentation tools, and the connectivity that hybrid and virtual events depend on.
• Troubleshooting Under Pressure: Strong troubleshooting instincts and composure when something goes sideways during a live event.
• Clear Communication: Professional, proactive communication with teammates, clients, and presenters, in person and in writing, and the ability to accept feedback and route requests to the right person.
• Post-secondary education in Interactive Media Development, Media and Communication, Film and Communications, Video Design and Production, Broadcasting, Audio Post-Production and Engineering, or a related field, or a demonstrated track record of equivalent professional experience.
• One year or more of professional field experience in a related role.

Considered an Asset

• Live audio experience, including mixing, wireless microphone systems, or audio recording and editing.
• Corporate event delivery experience, including conferences, tradeshows, and meetings.
• Personal and community event experience, including weddings, celebrations, and cultural gatherings.
• Venue coordination experience, including working with venue teams on logistics, layouts, and technical requirements.
• Video, camera, or livestream production depth.
• Lighting and stage production experience.
• Familiarity with project, inventory and rental management systems.
• Familiarity with Indigenous community contexts, organizations and programming.

Operational Requirements

• Valid Class G Ontario Driver’s Licence, with the ability and willingness to drive company or rental vehicles and small trailers. Thunder Bay’s geography and the regional nature of much of our work make reliable mobility a practical necessity for this role.
• Ability to lift and transport up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds) regularly, and to handle equipment safely.
• The willingness and ability to work in an open-office, collaborative environment, which includes a resident office dog.
• Flexibility for long days during peak event seasons, including evening, weekend, and occasional holiday work.
• A six (6) month probationary period applies to this role for benefits eligibility purposes. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits begin upon successful probation completion.
• First Aid and CPR-C certification, or willingness to obtain within twelve (12) months of hire. Training costs are covered by Ingaged upon successful completion of probation.
• Overtime is compensated in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000. Where elected by the employee, time off in lieu of overtime pay is available in accordance with statutory rates and the terms of the employment contract.
• Work performed on a public holiday is compensated in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000.
• Other duties as assigned, consistent with the purpose of this role and the operational needs of the department.

What We Offer

• Location: 610 Simpson Street, Thunder Bay (primary), with secondary work at our Fort William First Nation office at 656 City Road, plus company-operated venues, client venues, and out-of-town sites.
• Starting Rate: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour, based on demonstrable technical, audio, event delivery, or production experience. Ingaged operates a documented performance framework with milestones tied to compensation increases. This posted rate reflects the starting position, with progression based on established framework criteria.
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Regular office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Event hours vary and include evenings, weekends, travel days and occasional holidays.
• Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage following successful probation completion.
• Vacation: Two weeks per year, increasing to three weeks after five years of continuous service in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000. Vacation pay is calculated and disbursed in accordance with the ESA.
• Time in Lieu: Available for approved evening, weekend, and event-period work, under the terms of the employment contract.
• Professional Development: Training, certification, and workshop opportunities are supported where aligned with role growth and department needs.
• A Recognized Skill Pathway: Areas of greater skill are formally recognized through a defined internal pathway once confirmed on the job, with video and other areas to follow.
• Travel: Travel concentrates during active event periods, typically about six months of the year. Annualized travel averages 30 to 40 percent of working time, peaking at up to 70 percent during active event periods, including multi-day and overnight travel.
• High-Availability Months: October, November, February, and March are periods of concentrated event delivery. Full availability is required during these months, with exceptions and accommodations considered in advance.
• A Defined Growth Path: Ingaged operates a documented performance framework with milestones tied to compensation increases, applied consistently across the team.
