About the team you are joining

The team is responsible for the development of industry advocacy solutions, the roll‑out of global standards, policies, and initiatives related to aircraft technical operations and supply chain. This multidisciplinary role involves high‑level cross‑functional coordination with department members, and offers opportunities to develop your profile and lead through different areas of expertise. All team members work with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders, such as the International Civil Aviation Organization and other international actors of the industry.

What your day would be like

• Work on supply chain and technical operations programs at IATA, developing initiatives, standards, and solutions‑based advocacy to provide tangible and impactful support to airline members.
• Provide senior expertise to ensure members’ needs are represented in supply chain, sustainability, technical operations, and other data‑centric programs.
• Represent the department’s programs at industry workshops and conferences, collaborating with airline members and ecosystem actors (MROs, OEMs, lessors, parts distributors, design organization approvals, etc.).
• Lead on co‑development of the IATA MRO SmartHub advocacy platform, managing new programs and industry cooperation to strengthen the aviation supply chain ecosystem.
• Support all IATA advocacy requirements, including engagements with ICAO, ICCAIA, OEMs, MROs, lessors, industry associations, EASA/FAA, etc.
• Fulfill the secretary role of assigned working groups, which may include the IATA Technical Operations Working Group itself.
• Identify and drive new initiatives enhancing efficiency and sustainability for members and other IATA areas (Training, Publications, Consulting, Events, etc.).
• Collaborate actively with department members to share expertise and knowledge, train others in your core expertise, and delegate taskforce and working group activities under your supervision.
• Support the Head Aviation Supply Chain, including acting under their delegation toward IATA councils and standing in for them during brief absences, ensuring efficient running of the technical operations and supply chain area.

We would love to hear from you if

• A master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 12 years of relevant experience, including managerial experience in an airline on a relevant domain (engineering, procurement and contracts, vendors, or materials management).
• Ideally dual career experience complementing a previous airline role, such as MRO, OEM, leasing company, etc.
• Curiosity, strong analytical skills, a strategic mindset, and a drive to innovate through impactful industry programs.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, presentation, and written communication skills in English, with the ability to lead on industry workshops and conferences to represent the department’s programs.
• A team player with a growth mindset and strong cross‑functional collaboration within and outside the department.
• Willingness to rotate domain leadership across various areas of the department and motivation to develop new fields of expertise.
• Proficiency with regulatory frameworks from FAA and EASA Part 145 and Part 21, and aircraft maintenance documentation (MPD, AMM, CMMs, etc.).
• Familiarity with aircraft product support frameworks and aircraft and engines systems (aircraft general familiarization course certificates).
• Experience authoring and negotiating technical contracts.
