Drop-In Services Coordinator

Position Summary
The Drop-In Services Coordinator supports the daily operations and service delivery of Newo Yotina Friendship Centre's drop-in centre and harm reduction programs. Reporting to the Manager, Community Outreach and Support Services, the Coordinator helps ensure the drop-in centre remains a safe, welcoming, culturally responsive, and well-organized environment where community members can access basic needs, social supports, referrals, and meaningful connections to services.
The coordinator plays a key role in the day-to-day operation of the drop-In centre, assisting with client engagement, service navigation, volunteer coordination, program administration, data collection, and operational support. Working collaboratively with staff across the organization, the coordinator helps connect clients to internal programs and external community resources, supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, food insecurity, mental health challenges, addictions, and other barriers.
This position requires a strong commitment to trauma-informed, harm reduction, and culturally safe practices and contributes to creating an environment that promotes dignity, belonging, wellness, and community connection.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist the Manager, Community Outreach and Support Services with the daily operation and coordination of the drop-in centre.
Help ensure the drop-in centre is safe, welcoming, inclusive, and responsive to community needs.
Monitor daily activities and address operational issues as they arise.
Support the implementation of policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, and maintaining adequate food and program supplies.
Support facility upkeep and ensure shared spaces remain clean, organized, and functional.
