Accounting/Finance Coordinator (Quebec City)

Overview Industry: Funeral Services. Temporary position (12 to 18 months). Lepine Cloutier, a member of the Athos network, brings together renowned funeral establishments across Quebec. The Financial Controller plays a central role in ensuring financial rigor and organizational performance. As a true business partner, the incumbent actively contributes to the reliability of financial information and continuous improvement initiatives. The Financial Controller embodies and promotes Athos’ core values through their qualified practices and daily interactions.
Responsibilities Oversee the full accounting cycle, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Support annual audits and collaborate with external auditors.
Work closely with the payroll function, including: Reviewing payroll journal entries
Monitoring related balance sheet accounts
Conducting compensation analyses Prepare sales tax returns (GST/QST) and act as the point of contact during tax audits.
Contribute to the optimization of accounting and treasury processes in collaboration with finance leadership.
Implement and strengthen internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Participate in special projects and respond to ad hoc requests as needed.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
CPA designation (mandatory).
Advanced proficiency in Excel.
Continuous improvement orientation.
