Who we are
At Yorkville University and Toronto Film School, we believe education is more than the pursuit of knowledge – it is a catalyst for transformation. Our mission, grounded in democratizing education, is to create access for learners from every background and empower them to achieve their aspirations and advance their careers.
We are committed to delivering rigorous, flexible programs that are both personally fulfilling and professionally rewarding, while contributing to the betterment of society. Since 2004, Yorkville has been among Canada’s few private, for-profit, fully accredited degree-granting universities, with campuses in Ontario, British Columbia, and New Brunswick. Together with Toronto Film School, we offer creative and academic pathways at both the college and university levels, cultivating a multidisciplinary environment where innovation and the arts converge.
Our community is vibrant and diverse. Many of our learners are adults balancing education with careers and personal commitments. Every member of our team – whether in teaching, operations, or technology – is dedicated to removing barriers and expanding access. Together, we deliver flexible, industry-informed learning that leads to meaningful opportunities.
At our core is human connection – guiding people to reimagine their futures in a community defined by opportunity, creativity, and growth.
Who we need
Reporting to the Director, IT Experience, we are hiring an IT User Training Coordinator to support the successful rollout, adoption, and day-to-day use of technology across the organization. As our new IT User Training Coordinator, you will lead engaging virtual and in-person training sessions, support onboarding initiatives, create user-friendly training resources, and help students, faculty, and staff confidently navigate institutional systems and tools. This is a highly visible and collaborative role that blends technology, facilitation, communication, and user experience.
This is an existing full-time hybrid role based in Toronto, working four days per week on-site, alternating between our 85 Richmond and 120 Bloor campuses, with occasional travel between our BC and Fredericton campuses to support onboarding, orientation, and training activities.
What’s in it for you
Impact and visibility. You will play a key role in helping students, faculty, and staff successfully adopt and use technology across the organization. From onboarding and orientation to training delivery and user support, your work will directly influence the day-to-day experience people have with institutional systems and tools.
A highly collaborative and people-focused IT role. This is an opportunity to combine technology, communication, facilitation, and relationship-building in a visible role that works across departments and campuses. You will partner with teams throughout the organization, deliver engaging learning experiences, and become a trusted resource for technology adoption and user engagement.
Exposure and career growth. You will gain experience across digital adoption, training, onboarding, communications, and IT operations while building relationships across the business. Over time, this role can create pathways into project coordination, process improvement, technology planning, architecture, or other areas within IT and the broader organization.
As our new IT User Training Coordinator, you will:
- Deliver training and support adoption. You will facilitate engaging virtual and in-person training sessions for students, faculty, and staff, supporting the rollout and adoption of institutional technologies across the organization. You will lead onboarding and orientation-related technology sessions, support remote users, answer questions, and help users feel confident navigating systems and tools.
- Create training content and resources. You will develop accessible and user-friendly training materials, including guides, presentations, onboarding resources, and supporting documentation. You will translate technical concepts into clear, practical language for non-technical audiences and continuously improve materials based on feedback and evolving business needs.
- Collaborate across the organization. You will work closely with IT, student services, academic teams, and other departments to coordinate training schedules, gather business requirements, support onboarding activities, and align communication related to technology rollouts and user engagement initiatives.
- Drive engagement and continuous improvement. You will collect and analyze user feedback, identify common challenges, and recommend improvements to strengthen the overall training and user experience. You will support surveys, communications, and adoption initiatives using tools such as LMS platforms, SharePoint, Teams, Zoom, and presentation and feedback tools including Mentimeter, Kahoot, and Microsoft Forms.
You have
- The education and experience. You have post-secondary education in information technology, education, communications, training, or a related field, combined with experience delivering training, supporting digital adoption, or working in a user-facing technology environment. You may have experience in IT support, project coordination, onboarding, customer service, facilitation, or another role where you helped users confidently adopt new systems and tools.
- The facilitation and communication skills. You are a confident and engaging presenter who is comfortable leading virtual and in-person sessions for groups of varying sizes. You can translate technical concepts into clear, user-friendly language and create accessible training materials, guides, and resources for non-technical audiences.
- The technical aptitude. You are comfortable working with collaboration and training technologies such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, SharePoint, LMS platforms, survey and feedback tools, and presentation platforms such as Mentimeter or Kahoot. You are confident in learning new systems and helping others adopt them effectively.
- The interpersonal skills. You are outgoing, approachable, and highly collaborative. You build relationships easily across teams, ask thoughtful questions to understand user needs, and create positive experiences for students, faculty, staff, and colleagues.
- The organization and adaptability. You can manage multiple priorities, coordinate training schedules, balance facilitation with content creation, and adapt quickly to changing business needs and technology rollouts. ou are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with up to 25% travel, primarily within the GTA, with occasional travel to campuses in BC and Fredericton as needed.
