Operations Manager

Our client, a leading provider of road and bridge maintenance services under contract with the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario, is looking for a hands-on, take-charge Operations Manager to lead a dedicated crew of forepersons, maintenance workers, and operators who keep Ontario's roads and bridges safe for the people who rely on them every day. If you thrive on solving problems in the field, leading people, and making sure the work gets done right, we want to hear from you. This position is based out of Sudbury, ON.

What You'll Do

• Own the day-to-day operations of a road and bridge maintenance contract
• Keep projects on track and on budget through smart scheduling, cost control, and quality standards
• Champion efficient use of manpower and equipment to drive productivity
• Manage capital works, work orders, and extra work in response to MTO requests
• Oversee subcontracts and subcontractor relationships
• Handle the people side of the business: hiring, timesheets, overtime, and shift scheduling
• Build a workplace culture rooted in collaboration, accountability, and pride in the work

What You Bring

• A diploma or degree from a technical college or university in a related field
• Deep knowledge of Ontario's Road and Bridge Maintenance Standards
• A track record of managing crews delivering road and bridge maintenance services
• Comfort with contract language, provincial regulations, and WSIB requirements
• Strong leadership, communication, and public relations skills
• Experience working within a unionized environment
