Application Engineer

Responsibilities

• Interface with customers and EagleBurgmann global sales organization to determine project requirements.
• Review customer specifications, operating conditions, and system interfaces.
• Perform application sizing, performance calculations, and product selection.
• Prepare technical proposals and quotations with supporting documentation and comments and deviations to specifications.
• Participate in product development as needed for special applications.
• Perform engineering calculations related to blower performance, pressure vessel design, magnetic coupling design, etc.
• Check/review engineering drawings as required ensuring products meet contract requirements as well as engineering standards and certifications.
• Ensure the scope is well defined, and that the product design meets these specifications and the customer’s requirements.
• Review contracts to ensure technical feasibility, risk management, and alignment with internal engineering and operations capabilities.
• Create data packages and inspection and test plans.
• Provide technical support during design, manufacturing, commissioning, and service phases.
• Manage projects, including project timelines, project budgeting, cost estimation, component and material procurement.
• Participate in quality processes including corrective and preventative actions or activities.
• Capture lessons learned from projects and field experience to support continuous improvement.
• Participate in testing of products, sometimes with customers or third‑party inspectors.
• Support Service and Repair business.
• Review and adhere to all Company management systems, procedures, and policies (e.g., Quality, HSE, etc.).
• Responsible for other duties and responsibilities as determined from time to time by Company Management.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing) or equivalent.
• Self‑starter with strong organization skills and attention to detail requiring minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of industrial rotating equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to multi‑task.
• Hands‑on mechanical aptitude.
• Project management experience.
• Ability to work well within a team including manufacturing personnel, engineers, designers, suppliers, and customers.
• Strong dedication to customer service.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of managing and/or switching from one task to another in a fluid environment.
• Capable of prioritizing workload based on organizational needs with little supervision.
• Ability to think outside of the box.
• Must operate with a sense of urgency and be flexible with scheduling to meet customer needs.
