Key responsibilities

• Preparing instructional and testing materials relevant to the course being taught.
• Instructing/teaching/testing.
• Marking/grading of exams and assignments etc.
• Providing constructive feedback to students.
• Maintaining regular office hours.

Qualifications

• Master's degree, Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidate preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in the English language is required.
• Background/specialization in subject area required.
• Demonstrated competence in post-secondary teaching required.
• Empathetic approach to the instructional needs and concerns of students is required.
• Previous teaching in the subject area or related area would be an asset.

Class times: Thursday; 8:30 - 11:15 am

We seek a practicing artist with a commitment to professional practice and an inspiring teaching style. MFA or equivalent degree required. Must have an ability to work collegially within a complex institutional setting, manage deadlines, and operate within the respectful workplace guidelines of the University of Manitoba. Must be able to supervise a diverse teaching environment and coordinate resources to deliver an above average student experience. Should have experience using digital technology in the classroom.

Candidates should possess a skill set that includes: traditional and contemporary intaglio printing materials, approaches and techniques; the ability to supervise student assignments/project and development culminating in a presentation of work for critique and evaluation; the ability to provide ongoing technical and conceptual assistance with assignments; an inspiring teaching style and respect for diverse learning skills.

• Copies of student-based teaching evaluations for courses taught within 3 years.

• Course outlines for courses taught within 3 years.
