The opportunity:
This position performs all administrative duties as needed to support the Physical Plant Bannatyne office. Included in these duties is reception, work orders, dispatching, ordering supplies, administrative support for management in all areas and other duties as assigned.
The qualifications and experience we're looking for:
- Completion of a formal training program in a related discipline from a recognized institute required.
- A minimum of three years of directly related experience in a maintenance office required.
- Experience with computerized work order management system is required.
- Familiarity with U of M purchasing system and Physical Plant policies and procedures preferred.
- Knowledge of all maintenance trades (electrical, controls, plumbing, carpentry, machine shop, painting, locksmith, refrigeration and including building HVAC systems) preferred.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
- Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Access, Excel and Word required.
- Analytical approach to problem solving required.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines required.
- Ability to work independently using established procedures required.
- Demonstrated ability to work under stressful situations with many interruptions required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
