Summary
As an Assistant Camp Co-ordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the camp's daily operations and ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children. Your ability to connect with campers and foster a positive atmosphere will be essential to the success of the camp. Join our team and help create memorable experiences for children in a fun and dynamic setting.
Assistant Camp Coordinator
Duties and Responsibilities:
- ·Responsible for coordinating the flow of the day; ensuring that artists and art materials are present and set up, that campers are where they need to be and are involved, that snacks and water are readily available, and that the programs run on schedule.
- ·Be flexible and creative in generating activities (during break times) for campers during good and inclement weather.
- ·Be a friend to the campers and volunteers while maintaining constant supervision.
- ·Inform and update artists and administrative chain of any problems or concerns.
- ·Responsible for care, upkeep and storage of all art materials each day.
- ·In charge of daily arrival and registration and departure of campers.
- ·Responsible for allocating tasks to Teen Volunteers
- ·Responsible for overseeing Teen Volunteers
- ·Responsible for set up each morning and clean up at the end of each day, with support from Teen volunteers and in collaboration with Camp Manager.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- ·You complete a First Aid / CPR course (paid for by ArtWorth)
- ·You are organized and possess good people and communication skills.
- ·You are creative and like working with young people.
- ·You have experience with children and coordinating groups of people.
- ·Ideally, you have an interest in art, nature, sport and play!
- ·You have reliable transportation (to Warkworth/Campbellford)
Eligible candidates must be 17 years of age or older, live in Trent Hills, and be returning to high school, college or university in Sept. 2025.
Hours: Approx. 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, July 2 - 29
Must be available: Leadership Training July 2 and 3.
Debrief, reporting and packing up camp July 28th or 29th (TBC)
This is a contract position.
