Belly of the Bison is where elegant, comfort-driven cooking meets an exceptional wine list and reinvented classic cocktails, right on Main Street in the heart of downtown Whitehorse. Every plate that leaves this kitchen carries a standard, and that standard starts with the work that happens before service even begins.

We're looking for a Prep Cook/Dishwasher to be part of that. You'll keep the kitchen prepped, stocked, and spotless so our cooks can focus on what they do best, service after service. It's hands-on, fast-moving work at the foundation of a serious kitchen, and it's where real culinary careers start. Under the direction of our Chef and Sous Chef, you'll build the skills, habits, and instincts that carry forward, whether that means growing into a cook role here or taking what you've learned wherever you go next.

What Does Your Success Look Like?

• Prep is ready, accurate, and on time, so cooks can execute service without delays
• Dishes, glassware, and kitchen tools are clean, sanitized, and available when the kitchen needs them
• Stations, storage, and prep areas stay organized and stocked, keeping service running smoothly
• Food safety and sanitation standards are followed consistently, protecting both guests and the kitchen
• Low stock, quality concerns, or equipment issues are flagged to the Chef or Sous Chef before they become service problems

What You Bring To The Role

• Reliability and punctuality - the kitchen depends on you showing up and following through
• Ability to follow verbal and written direction in a fast-paced kitchen
• Comfort working around heat, steam, wet floors, and cleaning products for extended periods
• Attention to detail in prep, dishwashing, cleaning, and storage
• A cooperative, respectful approach to working with a small kitchen team
• Entry-level kitchen or food service experience is an asset.
