Responsibilities
Tasks
Prepare and cook Indian dishes
- Prepare and cook Indian dishes such as curries, tandoori items, biryani, naan, appetizers, and sauces
Follow recipes, portion sizes, and food presentation standards
Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, marinating, grinding spices, and making sauces
Operate kitchen equipment such as stove, tandoor, fryer, grill, and ovens
Maintain consistent taste, quality, and food safety standards
Check food inventory and inform the kitchen manager when supplies are low
Store food properly and label/date ingredients
Follow FIFO (first in, first out) procedures
Maintain a clean and organized workstation
Wash and sanitize cooking equipment, utensils, and surfaces
Follow health and safety regulations, including temperature control and hygiene practices
Assist with menu preparation and daily kitchen prep
Work with kitchen staff to coordinate orders during busy service periods
Train or assist junior kitchen staff when required
Minimize food waste and control portions
Handle customer orders and special dietary requests when needed
