Belong to Something Beautiful
At Sephora Canada, beauty is about feeling seen, valued, and empowered, individually and collectively. It is connecting deeply with others, celebrating diversity and inclusivity, unlocking your potential and making a difference every day. Together, we belong to something beautiful.
Ready for a career glow-up? As Regional HR Manager, Western Canada, you’ll be providing strategic HR partnership and guidance to Sephora stores and retail leaders across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. The work you do will impact beauty, as you support talent retention, employee relations, policy interpretation, health and safety, performance management, and market-based HR strategies aligned to field objectives. You’ll partner closely with Store Leadership, District Managers, and the Regional Director in a role that’s united in beauty, supported by those who are equally as passionate about building strong teams, elevating leadership capability, and helping our people belong, grow, and thrive.
What You’ll Do:
As a trusted HR partner to store and field leaders, you'll help create an exceptional employee experience across the region while supporting business performance, engagement, and growth:
- Partner with Field and HR leaders to develop and execute people strategies that support business priorities and strengthen the employee experience.
- Drive consistency across stores by implementing HR programs, policies, and best practices that align with company objectives.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, simplify ways of working, and lead change initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness.
- Ensure successful rollout and adoption of key HR initiatives, providing guidance and support to leaders throughout implementation.
- Travel regularly throughout your assigned region, with occasional travel across Canada and the U.S.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of HR professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on employee relations matters, performance management, and workplace concerns.
- Provide guidance on performance improvement plans, corrective action, and terminations, ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance.
- Coach and train leaders on HR policies, procedures, and employment practices to support positive employee experiences and mitigate risk.
- Conduct and resolve employee relations investigations and escalated concerns in alignment with company policies and values.
- Partner with Asset Protection on investigations, providing HR expertise, documentation, and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with provincial employment standards, human rights legislation, and company policies.
- Develop and implement proactive strategies that strengthen employee relations and workplace culture.
Health & Safety
- Champion a culture of safety by supporting compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, policies, and programs.
- Partner with store leaders to ensure completion of required training, committee meetings, and health and safety practices.
- Support workers' compensation claims, workplace accommodations, and return-to-work programs.
Insights & Operations
- Leverage HR metrics and workforce insights to identify trends, inform decisions, and support business planning across the region.
- Manage the regional HR travel and expense budget.
Employee Engagement & Talent Development
- Partner with leaders on talent reviews, succession planning, and development planning to build strong talent pipelines.
- Lead engagement initiatives and support leaders in creating meaningful action plans that foster an inclusive, high-performing culture.
- Oversee the annual performance management cycle for retail teams, partnering closely with Total Rewards to ensure smooth execution of performance and merit processes.
- Enhance leadership capability through coaching and training on performance management, employee relations, and people leadership practices.
- Support onboarding and development for District Managers and Store Leadership to help them succeed in their roles.
What You’ll Bring:
- 3-5 years of progressive HR leadership experience in a multi-site retail environment, or an equivalent combination of HR and people leadership experience.
- A college diploma or university degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and proven ability to apply sound judgement to complex people matters.
- Experience partnering with leaders to drive employee engagement, talent development, performance management, and business results.
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A collaborative, adaptable approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a data-informed approach to decision-making.
- A demonstrated commitment to creating inclusive, positive workplace experiences and role modelling Sephora's values and culture.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout the assigned region, with occasional travel across Canada and the U.S.
- This is a remote role, with a preference for candidates based in British Columbia.
- Comfort and confidence using digital and AI-enabled tools responsibly in their day-to-day work.
