Power Line Technician - FortisBC

Join FortisBC as a Power Line Technician while leveraging your Journeyman certification in electric utility systems. This full-time role encompasses standby duties, training, and field responsibilities. In your position at FortisBC, you will report to a staff supervisor while fully utilizing your trades qualifications. This role involves assisting in the training of apprentices and other employees, performing duties of lower classifications, and engaging in standby assignments when necessary. Familiarity with electric utility transmission and safety devices is crucial for success. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform assigned standby duties efficiently
• Train new employees and apprentices
• Carry out lower classification responsibilities
• Assist in utility transmission and distribution tasks
• Adhere to safety protocols and isolating procedures Requirements:
• Journeyman Powerline Technician Interprovincial Certificate
• Experience in electric utility systems and devices
• Valid Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement
• Willingness to follow residency and travel requirements
• Ability to manage on-call and overtime work Utilize your expertise in powerline technology to support vital utility services with FortisBC.
