Dishwasher/Busser (Youth Position)

Position Summary
The Dishwasher/Busser is a support role responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in food
service and dining areas. This position assists both front-of-house and back-of-house operations and works
under the direct supervision of adult staff members. This role does not involve alcohol service or hazardous
duties.

Key Responsibilities:
Dishwashing & Cleaning
– Wash dishes, glassware, cutlery, and kitchen equipment
– Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing areas
– Assist with general kitchen and service-area cleaning as assigned
Dining Area Support
– Clear tables and reset seating areas
– Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately
– Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly dining room
Safety & Compliance
– Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
– Comply with youth employment restrictions and safety guidelines
– Use equipment only as trained and authorized
Restrictions & Limitations
– This role does not include selling, serving, pouring, or handling alcohol for service
– The Employee may clear tables containing alcoholic beverages as part of routine cleanup
– The Employee will not operate hazardous equipment or perform prohibited duties under Alberta youth employment laws
Training & Certification
– On-the-job training provided
– Food Handling Certification may be required, subject to a reasonable grace period
Working Conditions
– Standing for extended periods
– Repetitive motion and light lifting
– Fast-paced restaurant environment
