Caregiver

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dependable Health Care Aide (HCA) to provide in-home support to clients in our community. As a Health Care Aide, you will assist individuals who wish to remain safely and comfortably in their own homes. This role requires empathy, professionalism, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support mobility, transfers, and safe ambulation
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed
• Perform light housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, tidying)
• Provide medication reminders (as permitted by regulations)
• Offer companionship and emotional support
• Observe and report changes in client condition to the supervising nurse or care coordinator
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
• Follow individualized care plans and safety protocols

Qualifications:

• Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide is an asset
• CPR and First Aid certification required
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred/required if applicable)
• Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening
• Previous home care experience is not require but preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Must be able to work one weekend per month, and be available for some evenings
