Genetic Counsellor For Cancer Program Winnipeg

Become a Genetic Counsellor at Women's College Hospital, specializing in cancer genetics in Ontario. Help patients navigate their hereditary risks and access vital services. This role is temporary and casual, where you will engage with patients through interviews to develop their medical background. Your expertise will facilitate cancer risk assessments and genetic testing discussions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and support ongoing research efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive patient and family medical histories
- Educate patients on genetic susceptibility testing advantages
- Coordinate referrals to specialized healthcare professionals
- Document patient assessments and cancer surveillance strategies
- Support research by collecting and analyzing data
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Master’s program in Genetic Counselling
- Board Certified or eligible with skilled associations
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred
- Proficient in critical thinking and problem-solving
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
