Full-Time Summer Camp Counsellor Role
Robert A Steen Community Centre
Make a positive impact this summer as a Full-Time Summer Camp Counsellor at the Robert A. Steen Community Centre. Engage with children aged 7-12 while leading activities and ensuring their safety. The camp operates weekly through July and August, with training starting the week prior. Candidates should be aged 15-29, showcasing patience, confidence, and strong communication skills. Experience in childcare or education is preferable, and successful applicants must complete background checks and have current First Aid/CPR certifications. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead program activities under the Program Manager's direction
- Ensure safety and hygiene during all camp activities
- Assist in daily curriculum prep and clean-up
- Communicate with parents daily regarding participant well-being
- Complete incident and safety documents as needed
- Youth aged 15-29 eligible for funding
- Experience in childcare or education preferred
- Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record checks required
- Current First Aid/CPR certification necessary
- Strong organizational and communication abilities
