Insurance Litigation Counsel II - Hybrid Role

Intact seeks a motivated In-House Legal Counsel II to manage insurance litigation in a hybrid setting. Bring your expertise to a supportive team and lead impactful legal strategies.
In this role, you’ll navigate complexities of insurance defense with independence, preparing and presenting legal documents as well as conducting trials. Your contributions will enhance the claims department through presentations and seminars, reflecting your commitment to legal excellence. Collaborating with a dynamic team, you will utilize AI tools to maximize efficiency and uphold ethical standards in our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage insurance defense files from start to finish
• Prepare and present at trials, mediations, and conferences
• Draft essential legal documents and pleadings
• Lead legal educational seminars for staff development
• Ensure effective communication with the claims team
Requirements:
• LLB or JD required, current Alberta Law Society member
• At least five years of relevant litigation experience
• Skilled in drafting and managing case files
• Experience in varied legal practice areas is advantageous
• Strong verbal and writing skills for effective communication
