Fleet Coordinator/Dispatcher ($25/hr)

Protrans Personnel Services is currently hiring a Full-Time Fleet Coordinator / Dispatcher in Ayr, ON on behalf of our client in the transportation and logistics industry.

This position will act as the main point of contact for Driving Associates and fleet activities, including assigning and monitoring driver schedules and ensuring the safe and efficient utilization of equipment to support customer requirements.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-Time
• Monday to Friday
• Afternoon Shift
  • Start time between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM
  • End time between 10:00 PM and 12:00 AM , depending on start time
• Overtime may be required , including early starts, late finishes, and occasional Saturday shifts
• Overtime paid after 44 hours per week
• Starting wage: $25.00 per hour

Major Responsibilities

• Schedule and assign drivers, carriers, and equipment to ensure timely, complete, and accurate service delivery.
• Monitor fleet activities and coordinate resources to meet customer requirements.
• Administer and support emergency roadside maintenance to maximize equipment availability.
• Procure and monitor driver equipment usage and requirements.
• Act as the primary point of contact for fleet-related activities.
• Document and report on equipment status and support KPI data collection and reporting.
• Identify, investigate, and escalate operational issues that may impact service levels.
• Ensure effective communication and information sharing across shifts.
• Recommend corrective actions to address process, safety, compliance, and performance gaps.
• Maintain accurate records and support administrative functions as required.
• Complete additional projects and duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• College or University education is considered an asset.
• Previous experience in a Fleet Coordinator, Dispatch, Transportation, or Logistics role is required .
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent administrative, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment.
• Strong time-management and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook .
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
• Willingness to travel as necessary and successfully complete all pre-employment requirements, including background screening.
