Payroll Specialist

Payroll Specialist Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees.
• Maintain and update employee payroll information in Dayforce, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, benefits, and other employee changes.
• Review and validate timesheets, attendance, hours worked, and payroll inputs prior to payroll processing.
• Perform payroll audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
• Process employee terminations and prepare applicable payroll documentation, including Records of Employment (ROEs).
• Ensure payroll practices comply with applicable federal and provincial employment, payroll, and taxation requirements.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues regarding pay, deductions, vacation balances, benefits, and tax-related matters.
• Support year-end payroll activities, including T4 preparation, reconciliation, and year-end adjustments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Payroll Requirements:

• 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience, with responsibility for full cycle/end-to-end payroll processing.
• Must have strong hands-on experience using Dayforce for manual payroll processing and administration.
• Solid understanding of Canadian payroll legislation, statutory deductions, payroll remittances, and year-end requirements.
• Experience with payroll reconciliations, audits, ROEs, T4s, terminations, and employee payroll inquiries.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage payroll deadlines accurately and independently.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Employment Details:
Pay: $25/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm,
Duration: 8-week assignment, possibility of extension
Location: Guelph, In-Office
