Job Responsibility:

Global Food Safety Resource Centre Inc. is looking for someone to join our team full-time in the role of Digital Sales Manager. Global Food Safety Resource's (“GFSR”) mission is to be a global leader within the food community by providing companies with valuable resources and business solutions that will enhance their food safety operations. We provide actionable insights and best practices for food safety through our content-rich, multi-channel, digital platforms, underscored by our core values of leadership, community, and credibility.

To meet the new demands of food safety compliance to regulations and industry standards in a globalized market, training is required, at all levels. GFSR has recently launched its newest product offering, the Safe-Food Training Hub™. With this platform you will be responsible for connecting with Training Companies to have them host courses or advertise on our Learning Management platform.

By osmosis we are contributing to the improvement of consumer health outcomes at all levels of the food supply chain.

The ideal candidate understands we are a small (agile) business with incredible potential for growth within the global food industry; someone who is eager to be a part of and support our global expansion strategies. The successful candidate has proven track record in advertising and sponsorship sales who can demonstrate an ability to close.

The Role:

As a key member of the business development team, the Digital Sales Manager will provide leadership to support GFSR's multi-channel, digital platforms to reach revenue targets. This position is a remote, home-based position and requires daily virtual meetings with clients, in addition to travel and attendance at international conferences, and occasional in-person team meeting.

Responsibilities:

The key area of responsibility includes identifying new prospective clients, conducting advertising, sponsorship, and hosting sales for two key brands with a global territory to reach project targets. In addition, you will represent us publicly as a brand ambassador for all products at conferences. Working closely with our team you will help identify new products for monetization while building on existing business strategies. You are an excellent communicator who can support customers at all stages of business development, providing excellent service to ensure campaigns booked are completed. Your primary responsibilities will be as follows.

Generate new leads and build client relationships

  • Disciplined, with a drive to achieve projected sales targets
  • A hunter-gatherer mentality to build a funnel of new leads to convert to sales
  • Follow up on leads to close advertising and sponsorship campaigns
  • Ability to grow sales from an existing client list
  • Highlight benefits of advertising and sponsorship campaigns
  • Highlight benefits of a hosted LMS platform inclusive of marketing
  • Cold calling, schedule virtual meetings, provide RFP's and close business
  • Provide needs analysis with clients on all products and services
  • Share information, build RFP's, follow up to close
  • Use/develop PowerPoint presentations to engage businesses
  • Account management to ensure campaigns are properly executed
  • Develop campaign improvement strategies to improve overall cost per lead or cost per sales metrics for the company
  • Report back to clients on campaigns with analytical data
  • Liaise with client marketing team to retrieve media assets and info
  • Support Operations with the issuing of P.O's
  • Support Operations with the collection of payments through reminders
  • Provide weekly reporting on book of business outcomes
  • Set up demos for training providers
  • Increase prospects leading to sales year-over-year by 20-30%
  • Attend conferences to prospect for leads
  • Work to established KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) as part of business development role
  • Manage sales expense budget as required

Attributes needed for success in this role include:

  • Graduate with BA in Business or Advertising/Marketing
  • Minimum 5 years Advertising and Sponsorship Sales experience
  • Proven record of high closing ratio, driven performer
  • Minimum 5 years selling digital advertising products
  • Be persuasive with relationship-selling approach with customers
  • Experienced selling, conceptual (digital) products
  • Confidence while dealing with C-suite individuals
  • Manage client's expectations and provide reports of campaign metrics
  • Understanding of digital terminology ie. Pageviews, CTR, Optimization
  • Knowledge about learning management systems, e-commerce
  • Experienced with interactive tools: HubSpot, Apollo, Microsoft 365 Exchange
  • Confident with great winning attitude & motivation to succeed
  • Demonstrated leadership, customer service skills, attention to detail
  • Willingness to be part of a team and share ideas with members
  • Ability to dress professionally in virtual and in-person meetings
  • Must have a designated home office, for business privacy
  • Must have high-speed internet, Driver's License, access to car
