Contract Operator – Westlock / Athabasca Region
Flywheel Resources is seeking an experienced Contract Operator to support our operations in the Westlock and Athabasca region of Alberta .
At Flywheel, we believe strong operations begin with strong stewardship. We are looking for an operator who takes ownership of their assets, demonstrates a commitment to regulatory compliance, and understands that safety is not a program—it is the foundation of how we work every day. Our operators play a critical role in protecting people, the environment, our communities, and the long-term value of our assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe and efficient operation of heavy oil wells & treating facilities
- Ensuring compliance with regulations, company standards, and industry best practices
- Monitoring & optimization of production, equipment performance, and operating costs
- Identifying and addressing operational, environmental, and integrity risks before they become issues
- Proactively supporting maintenance activities, inspections, and production optimization initiatives
- Maintaining accurate field data, operating records, and documentation
- Contributing to a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
Qualifications
- Oil and gas operations experience in production facilities and field operations
- Strong understanding of regulatory, environmental, and asset integrity requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices, hazard identification & controls
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with the operations team
