Job Summary

HR Advice is the first point of human contact for managers and employees seeking information and guidance on a wide range of HR topics. A role in our team is an excellent introduction to HR at RBC. It is also a foundational role for experienced People Managers who want to explore a career in HR or for individuals who have completed or working toward the CHRP designation.

What is the opportunity?

HR Consultant will join our Contact Centre team and provide advice to managers and employees in Canada by phone.

What will you do?

• Provide HR guidance for managers, employees, retirees on a broad range of topics including Workplace Policies, Digital Solutions, Payroll, Pension, Benefits as well as Recruitment, Performance and Learning
• Use critical thinking and experience to listen, assess and provide most appropriate response to managers and employees
• Promote a digitized HR experience by enabling and educating those that contact us
• Stay current with constantly evolving HR policies, programs and digital solutions while working proficiently in a fast-paced contact centre environment
• Be a part of a highly engaged team while demonstrating our Leadership Model behaviours

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

• Exceptional communication skills to listen, understand and respond to complex situations
• The capacity to learn HR related skill sets (payroll, pension, benefit, workplace policy, Workday)
• To be on site at our HR Advice Hub at Meadowvale (6880 Financial Drive, Mississauga) throughout the duration of your training and until full proficiency is attained (estimated to be 4 months) at which time you can apply to move to a remote work arrangement. Note: you will still be required to be onsite for further training or ad hoc events. Please ensure you are commutable to Meadowvale on regular basis.
• Ability to be flexible with work hours of shifts between 8am and 8pm (ET) Monday to Friday

Nice to have:

• Experience/Education in Human Resource Management
• Familiar with working in a Contact Centre environment
• French is an asset
