Senior Manager, Human Resources

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a company that offers industry-leading medical supplies, equipment, and services, supporting healthcare organizations with the products and services they require to deliver quality patient care. They are looking for an experienced Human Resources leader who is equally comfortable discussing workforce strategy with executives, coaching an HR team, leading organizational change, and resolving a difficult employee relations issue.

This is not an HR role built around maintaining the status quo. The successful candidate will operate in an entrepreneurial business environment where judgement, initiative, responsiveness, and the ability to turn strategy into action are highly valued.

As a senior member of the Human Resources department, you will have the opportunity to influence how the organization attracts, develops, engages, and retains the people required for continued success.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with senior HR and business leadership to translate organizational objectives into practical people and workforce strategies.
• Challenge and advise leaders on talent requirements, organizational design, workforce planning, succession, employee development, and retention.
• Identify organizational and workforce risks before they become barriers to business performance.
• Lead people-related components of transformation, restructuring, and organizational change.
• Bring a strong HR perspective to leadership committees and cross-functional business initiatives.
• Guide leaders through complex employee relations matters, including investigations, performance concerns, conflict, corrective action, and employment terminations.
• Strengthen leadership capability through coaching, succession planning, development programs, and talent reviews.
• Maintain strong employment practices and ensure compliance with relevant employment, human rights, and health and safety requirements.
• Develop HR team members and foster high standards of professionalism, accountability, and service.
  

Requirements

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Education & Training

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Current CHRP designation is required, with CHRL considered an asset.
• Strong working knowledge of employment legislation, human rights obligations, and workplace health and safety requirements.

Work Experience & Accomplishments

• 10+ years of progressive HR experience with meaningful responsibility across several Human Resources disciplines.
• 5+ years of experience leading HR professionals or teams.
• Track record of earning credibility with senior executives and influencing decisions beyond the traditional boundaries of Human Resources.
• Demonstrated experience leading organizational change, workforce planning, talent initiatives, and organizational effectiveness programs.
• Extensive experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
• Experience participating in senior leadership, operational, or executive committees as an HR representative.
• Proven ability to succeed in an entrepreneurial organization where leaders are expected to take ownership, solve problems, and execute with urgency.

Other

• Candidates must reside within the Greater Toronto Area. This position works on-site in Mississauga five days per week and is not structured as a hybrid or remote role.
