Department Manager, Footwear

Responsibilities

As a Department Sales Manager of Footwear, you will:

• Guide and develop your team, setting expectations and providing constructive feedback.
• Build and manage daily sales plans for the department.
• Create development plans for full‑time staff, coaching to close performance gaps.
• Lead engaging huddles, meetings, and coaching sessions to communicate skills.
• Maintain a positive work environment and excellent customer experience.
• Serve as a brand ambassador, building strong relationships with customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of retail experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Proven track record of business growth and exceptional customer service.
• Strong leadership skills and passion for coaching and inspiring a team.
• Customer‑focused mindset and ability to drive sales.
• Deep interest in sports or the sporting‑goods industry is an asset.

Minimum Requirements

• 2+ years of retail experience, supervisory level preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to grow sales and deliver outstanding customer service.
• Strong interest or experience in sports or sports‑goods.

Salary

Typical hiring range: $42,500 to $56,250. Salary decisions also consider experience, store size, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity, and role‑specific needs.
