Senior Plans Examiner in Ontario
CITY OF ST. CATHARINES
Join the City as a Senior Plans Examiner, focusing on ensuring building safety and compliance with regulations. Engage in critical inspections, permit issuance, and plan examinations for various building types. This role requires expertise in examining plans and specifications, particularly for large and complex buildings. You'll be responsible for issuing permits, investigating violations, and enforcing compliance with the Ontario Building Code. Your ability to coordinate construction reviews across various disciplines will be essential for meeting legislative timelines. Key Responsibilities:
• Examine building plans for safety and compliance
• Issue permits as per delegated authority
• Inspect construction stages for code adherence
• Investigate building regulation violations
• Provide technical guidance to staff and contractors Requirements:
• Graduate in civil engineering or related field
• Certified Engineering Technologist or equivalent
• Five years of building construction experience
• Ability to read architectural drawings
• Valid Ontario Driver’s license Apply your technical skills and regulatory knowledge to promote public safety in building construction across Ontario.
