Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with Halifax Seed on their search for a Data Coordinator (Contract) to join their team.



Halifax Seed is a long-established Atlantic Canadian distributor and retailer, supplying both commercial and consumer markets across the region. The organization works with approximately 100 manufacturers and a network of dealers, with pricing operations sitting at the core of its annual sales and distribution cycle.



Position Scope:

This is a four to five month contract opportunity covering a maternity leave during Halifax Seed's busiest pricing season. The Data Coordinator will work closely with product line managers and the broader team to consolidate manufacturer pricing data into standardized internal templates that feed Halifax Seed's ERP system. The role is mission critical, as the data produced sets the pricing foundation for distribution and retail across the year ahead.



Responsibilities:

• Pull pricing, costing, unit of measure, weight, and UPC data from a mix of vendor SharePoint sites, buying group portals, and direct manufacturer submissions.
• Consolidate and normalize data from approximately 100 manufacturers into Halifax Seed's standardized master and front-end pricing templates.
• Apply consistent formatting, character limits, and pricing rules across diverse vendor inputs, including multi-tier pricing scenarios where a single product is priced different ways depending on program or customer.
• Build out dealer sheets covering MSRP, wholesale pricing, buying group pricing, and pricing terms.
• Work closely with the existing process owner to maintain continuity of methodology, formulas, and template logic refined over multiple cycles.
• Support ERP uploads into SysPro, ensuring data integrity and alignment with internal validation steps.
• Identify and flag data inconsistencies, with strong attention to detail given the direct impact on annual profitability.
• Collaborate with product line managers, sales, and customer service teams who reference these templates throughout the year.

Position Requirements:

• Advanced Excel proficiency, including VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP, CountIfs, table creation, and complex data manipulation across large datasets.
• Demonstrated experience pulling and consolidating data from multiple, varied source systems with minimal oversight.
• A background in product, supply, or pricing data, ideally within distribution, retail, wholesale, or manufacturing environments.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a structured approach to data validation.
• Quick learner who can step into an established process, follow it accurately, and contribute without disrupting existing workflows.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across product, sales, and operations teams.

Assets:

• Experience with SysPro or a comparable ERP system.
• Familiarity with SharePoint-based vendor data exchange.
• Prior exposure to pricing operations, product onboarding, or annual catalogue cycles.
