Your role:
This is a work term position that provides students with the opportunity to experience working in a public accounting firm while working closely with experienced professionals. The successful candidate must be in the process of completing a business degree. As a co-op student, you will join a general practice team and will participate in all aspects of client service:
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing client accounting records, financial statements, corporate and personal income tax returns.
- Draft and review financial statements
- Plan and execute entry to level compilation engagements including preparation of financial statements and applicable tax filings such as T2s, T4s, T5S, GST & WCB and other compliance returns
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to continuously improve technical skills
- Prepare journal entries, individual and corporate tax returns
- Conduct research on professional and technical matters
- Prepare entry level personal income tax returns and related schedules
- Support various projects and admin tasks as required
What you bring to the table:
- Strong desire and dedication to work and learn in a dynamic work environment
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 2nd or 3rd year student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Completion of one or more financial accounting and/or tax courses
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.

Your schedule: Monday to Friday
Working Conditions: The co-op student will be expected to work in an office environment. During peak periods, there may be a requirement to work overtime to meet project deadlines and support team needs.
