THE ROLE:

The housekeeping manager is responsible for assisting in the management of housekeeping operations, which includes guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to achieve and maintain the hotel's high standard of cleanliness.

ACTIVITIES:

The tasks and responsibilities of the housekeeping manager include, but are not limited to, the following:

·        Create 100% customer satisfaction by offering true hospitality and exceeding guest expectations

·        Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation standards are managed according to brand standards in all housekeeping areas, including all guest rooms, public areas, offices, laundry, lockers, and storage areas front and back of house.

·        Assist in the hiring, training, and professional development of all housekeeping employees; assist in evaluating performance and communicating performance standards to employees.

·        Inspect cleanliness levels in guest rooms, storage areas, laundry rooms, restrooms, and public areas ensuring feedback is provided constructively and appropriately, with a focus on positive reinforcement.

·        Assist in planning staffing in accordance with standards and expected occupancy; assign daily work tasks to employees.

·        Assist in ordering and receiving linens and cleaning supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels required for the efficient operation of the department; assist with monthly linen and supply inventory.

·        Ensure completion of the housekeeping report and communicates clean and available rooms to front desk operations.

·        Document and communicate maintenance requests to the maintenance department to ensure that hotel service quality standards are maintained.

·        Respond promptly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.

·        Adhere to company policies and procedures and be able to communicate them effectively to subordinates.

·        Provide training on security, safety, department procedures, and service guidelines.

·        Ensure hotel compliance with all federal, provincial, and local laws, including health and safety, OHSA, and human rights.

·        Other tasks as assigned by management

SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

·        Previous experience as a housekeeping supervisor

·        Computer literate

·        A team player with a positive attitude and proven results.

·        Excellent time management, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills

·        Strong leadership, supervisory, and decision-making skills

·        A strong commitment to quality and customer service
