The Revenue Division of the Ministry of Finance is Saskatchewan's primary tax collection agency. The Division is responsible for the administration of several tax programs including Provincial Sales Tax, Liquor Consumption Tax, Fuel Tax and Tobacco Tax.

The Revenue Division within the Ministry of Finance is currently seeking one Junior Business Auditor to join our team in Regina. As a Junior Business Auditor, you will:

• Review, in detail, the financial records of a business, conduct audit tests, assess tax liabilities and interpret tax legislation in order to compose and present audit findings.
• Clearly and concisely provide explanations of audit findings and tax implications to stakeholders in a calm and professional manner.
• Analyze, review, interpret and evaluate business records, including documents and financial data in order to form conclusions, judgements and provide advice and recommendations.
• Work independently and cooperatively as a team member to provide quality client services and to build positive work relationships.
• Maintain confidentiality by protecting financial and personal information.

In order to succeed in this position, you will:

• Have knowledge of financial accounting, cost accounting and auditing, including principles, theory, standards and practices, as well as techniques and procedures.
• Be detail oriented, analytical and an individual who thrives on applying initiative.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to be diplomatic and discreet when dealing with a variety of audiences.
• Have the ability to analyze, understand, and apply different pieces of legislation and tax programs.
• Have knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database systems, as well as business and tax accounting software.

Typically, the knowledge and experience required for this role would be obtained through a university degree or a diploma with an accounting specialization or by taking courses towards a formal accounting designation. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
