Service Worker I - Emergency Department Role (Winnipeg)

Join the dedicated team at U of A Hospital as a Service Worker I in the Emergency Department. This part time role involves essential tasks like patient transport, supply management, and equipment cleaning.
As an integral member of the emergency healthcare team, you will assist in transporting patients and managing medical supplies. Your responsibilities will include replenishing and cleaning equipment and areas, while handling sensitive tasks related to lab specimens and charts. You will work closely with other staff members, ensuring safety and care quality throughout your shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport patients and essential equipment safely
- Maintain cleanliness of patient areas and equipment
- Distribute and manage hospital supplies effectively
- Assist with lab specimens and blood product transport
- Report safety concerns to Unit Managers promptly
Requirements
- Grade 12 education or equivalent needed
- BLS certification required before start
- Minimum one year experience as a porter/attendant
- Good English skills in both written and spoken
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
