Quelles seront vos responsabilités?

Le directeur de l’équipe d’ingénierie assurera la gestion des activités du centre de traitement des commandes clients en travaillant en étroite collaboration avec les équipes entrantes et sortantes et avec les autres équipes de soutien de manière à optimiser la capacité et le rendement des installations et de l’automatisation de l’équipement de manutention mécanique.

En tant que chef d’équipe responsable du service d’ingénierie, vos responsabilités quotidiennes pourraient comprendre : 

  • La supervision quotidienne des équipes de travail des ingénieurs et des techniciens et des membres des équipes de maintenance, y compris la définition des priorités et la répartition de la charge de travail.
  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les équipes entrantes et sortantes et avec les autres équipes de soutien sur une base quotidienne en vue de s’assurer que la direction du travail et les activités d’ingénierie prévues soutiennent pleinement les opérations.
  • Faire preuve de proactivité en matière de perfectionnement des membres de l’équipe, les conseiller, les encadrer et les motiver, évaluer leurs aptitudes, définir leurs besoins en matière de formation et de compétences et y répondre, et s’occuper des questions disciplinaires.
  • Évaluer les compétences de l’équipe d’ingénieurs et faciliter la mise à niveau et la formation du personnel, y compris l’intégration de la maintenance de première ligne des installations et de l’équipement.
  • La gestion et la mise au point de procédés pour la division, y compris les changements de quart, les réunions d’information et le signalement et la résolution des défaillances.
  • La production de rapports et les suivis relatifs à la saisie de données pour les activités d’automatisation et de maintenance. 
  • Être un leader actif sur le terrain, capable de suivre un rythme soutenu et précis, tout en respectant les normes. Pour ce faire, vous devez posséder un niveau élevé de compétences et d’expérience en tant qu’ingénieur, soit mécanique ou électrique, tout en étant familier et compétent dans ces deux domaines pour être en mesure de prendre des décisions éclairées.

Quel est votre profil?

Pour être admissible à ce poste, vous devriez satisfaire aux exigences suivantes : 

  • Un minimum de 5 ans d’expérience en tant que responsable d’une équipe composée de techniciens en génie polyvalents.
  • Un baccalauréat en génie électrique ou mécanique est souhaitable.
  • Bonnes compétences techniques en matière de matériel et de logiciels d’automatisation.
  • Expérience en gestion ou en supervision dans un environnement automatisé.
  • Bon sens de l’organisation et aptitude à planifier et à définir les priorités.
  • Excellent esprit d’analyse et souci du détail; aptitude à la résolution de problèmes et pragmatisme.
  • Compréhension approfondie des systèmes de production, de collecte et de stockage de l’équipement de manutention, dans le contexte d’un environnement automatisé.
  • Expérience au sein d’un environnement de biens de grande consommation.
  • Expérience pratique des systèmes informatisés de gestion de la maintenance.
  • Bonne maîtrise des chiffres et de l’informatique, notamment Word et Excel.
  • Expérience dans la gestion d’une équipe de plus de 10 employés, de la mise en place et de la gestion continue de la méthode 5S, des enquêtes en matière de santé et de sécurité et des mesures correctives.

En raison de notre fonctionnement 24 heures sur 24, 7 jours sur 7, ce poste exigera de la flexibilité. Un système de quarts de travail sera mis en place et nécessitera des heures de travail le jour, la nuit et la fin de semaine.

Ce poste est situé dans notre entrepôt automatisé à Montreal, au Québec.

What You Will Do

The Engineering Team Manager will manage the engineering shift activities at the Customer Fulfillment Center working closely with Inbound, Outbound and other support teams to optimize availability and performance of the facility, and its MHE automation.

As our Engineering Operations Team Leader, your day-to-day responsibilities could include:

  • Day to day supervision of shift engineers and technicians and maintenance shift members including prioritization and allocation of workload
  • Working closely with inbound, outbound, and other support teams on a daily basis to ensure direction of labor, and planned engineering activities fully support operation.
  • Be proactive in the development of team members, advise, lead and motivate team members, assess capability and identify and resolve training and skill requirements, be involved in disciplinary issues.
  • Assessment of engineering team skills and assisting in upskilling and training of staff, including integration of first line maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Management and development of department processes; including shift handovers, briefs, and defect reporting/resolving
  • Reporting and monitoring of data capture for automation and maintenance activities
  • Ability to lead from the front, driving pace accuracy and standards. As part of this be competent and experienced as an Engineer in your own right, either mechanically or electrically, although must be familiar and competent with both streams of engineering to enable decision making.

Who You Are

To qualify for this position, you should meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience managing a shift team composed of multi-skilled engineering technicians.
  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical and/or mechanical preferred.
  • Good technical ability relating to automation hardware and software. 
  • Experience at a management or supervisory level within an automated environment.
  • Good organizational ability and the ability to plan and prioritize.
  • Sound analytical skills with an eye for detail; good problem-solving ability and a practical approach.
  • Comprehensive understanding of production, picking and storage MHE systems, gained from experience in an automated environment.
  • Experience in an FMCG environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written English & French skills
  • Experience of working with computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Numerate and PC literate including Word, Excel, etc.
  • Experience managing a shift size of 10+ employees, 5S establishment and ongoing management, and H&S investigation a substituent action.

This role will require flexibility due to us being a 24/7 operation and a shift pattern will be put in place that will require working days, nights and weekends.
