Project Coordinator

The Creating Community Wellness Society (CCWS) is looking for a part-time Project Coordinator to help bring their Passport to Joy program to more seniors across Greater Victoria. This is not a traditional 9-5 role. It may be particularly appealing if you have some flexibility in your schedule and are looking for meaningful, hands-on work where relationships, resourcefulness and community connection matter.

This is a one-year, part-time contract running through August 2027. The hybrid role is based in Victoria, BC, and includes a combination of independent and community-based work. You will work closely with the Executive Director an average of 15 hours per week, representing CCWS with both community partners and participants. This important community role offers the right candidate $20 per hour and the opportunity to really make a difference.

Passport to Joy is a community-based initiative focused on reducing loneliness and social isolation by helping seniors connect, explore their community, discover services and activities and find new opportunities for belonging and purpose.

You will be a great fit if you:

• Genuinely enjoy connecting with seniors and community members
• Understand some of the barriers that make it difficult for seniors to participate, including isolation, mobility, accessibility, confidence and awareness of available services
• Know your way around the Greater Victoria community and enjoy building relationships
• Are comfortable reaching out to community organizations, businesses and service providers
• Can take an idea and help turn it into an organized, accessible activity or event
• Are dependable, organized and able to work independently with the support of our Executive Director
• Are motivated by making a tangible contribution to your community

The Project Coordinator will help us:

• Build on our successful Passport to Joy pilot and expand it to more seniors and community partners
• Coordinate and support approximately 15 – 20 accessible activities over the year
• Connect with organizations and services that can help senior participate more fully in their communities
• Help seniors discover opportunities they may not otherwise know about
• Gather feedback and help us understand the difference the program is making
• Help create experiences where seniors are valued for what they know and encouraged to learn, participate and connect
